Fares Alhalabi is a multidisciplinary designer, artist, and AI driven visual practitioner based in Vancouver, BC. Originally from Jaramana, near Damascus, Syria, he earned his BFA in Painting & Drawing and Graphic Design from Damascus University of Fine Arts in 2012.

He later moved to Chicago, where he continued to study and develop his practice, earning an MFA in Print Media and Visual Communication from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2024 with highest distinction. During his time at SAIC, he also worked as a teaching assistant and designer in Chicago.

Fares’ work spans design, printmaking, book arts, and AI filmmaking. His practice integrates traditional and emerging tools, using artificial intelligence alongside material processes to expand visual storytelling. Rooted in typography and image making, his work explores the relationship between visual language, identity, and political narratives.

Alongside his artistic practice, he works across branding, advertising, and digital design, combining conceptual thinking with strategic execution.
