Fares Alhalabi
Fares is a talented printmaker, graphic designer, and bookmaker based in Chicago, specializing in graphic design, commercial advertising, website design, bookmaking, and book cover design. Raised in Jaramana, a city near Damascus, Syria, he discovered his passion for visual arts early on and earned his undergraduate degree in Graphic Design / Painting and Drawing from Damascus University of Fine Arts in 2012.
In 2013, Fares moved to the United States to expand his artistic horizons. Driven by his love for printmaking, typography, and visual storytelling, he pursued an MFA in Print Media and Visual Communication at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Graduating in 2024 with the highest distinction of a 4.0 GPA each semester, he solidified his reputation as a dedicated and skilled artist.
Fares’ work reflects his deep appreciation for the visual language, seamlessly blending design fundamentals with innovative approaches. His expertise extends to designing captivating book covers that bring stories to life and elevate readers' first impressions.
His art has been showcased in several prominent galleries, including exhibitions in Damascus, Syria; The Color Club Gallery and SAIC galleries in Chicago; and the Anya & Andrew Shiva Gallery in New York.
